**Interim Head of Service - Refugee and Asylum Seeker Services**

**Location:** Bristol City Council

**Job Summary:**
Join Bristol City Council as an Interim Head of Service for Refugee and Asylum Seeker Services, providing strategic and operational leadership. You will manage resources, ensuring compliance with funding instructions and council processes while supporting refugees and asylum seekers in line with Bristol City Councils strategic objectives.

**Main Duties & Responsibilities:**
1. Provide system-wide leadership for refugee resettlement services, aligning with grant funding instructions and council strategy.
2. Develop effective joint working arrangements with key partners in the Integrated Care System and Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprise Sector.
3. Lead the delivery of equitable access to support and services for refugees and asylum seekers, collaborating with specialist and mainstream service providers.
4. Offer strategic leadership for all commissioned services utilizing resettlement grants or Asylum Funding, ensuring alignment with council processes.
5. Ensure strategic, operational, systems, and democratic alignment.
6. Ensure sound financial stewardship of public funding, adhering to national/local government requirements and local strategic objectives.

**Person Specification:**
- Highly-developed advocacy, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Significant experience in migrant health, wellbeing, housing, care, education, or equalities at a senior management level.
- Degree or professional qualification in housing, social work, environmental health, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of refugee and asylum systems and related sectors.
