We are looking to recruit a Head of Service to oversight the Fostering and Children's Residential Service areas within Rotherham. Our client has a well-structure and organised team that are looking to grow their staffing levels. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced and supportive team.

This is a hybrid role, and candidates will be expected to work in the borough for a minimum of 3 days per week.

Main duties include:

  • The post holder will have responsibility for strategic management oversight of the Fostering and Children's Residential Service areas. This includes Fostering case holding, marketing and assessment and the PAUSE service. Residential provisions include oversight of the residential transformation program, oversight of 5 established children's homes, a short breaks service and 16 + provision.
  • The post holder will have responsibility for delivering high level advice and guidance which significantly influences, either directly or indirectly, the trust and confidence of the community and/or Council.
  • This will involve the strategic planning, review, design and transformation of services to deliver sustainable and safe outcomes for high-risk vulnerable client groups to ensure people's needs are met and value for money achieved.
