Blair West is working in partnership with a market-leading security manufacturer to source a Head of Sales. This organisation is a market leader in their sector and supplies diverse products directly to the construction industry. Following on from a growth period last year, they are looking to place a Head of Sales to lead on strategy, pipeline management and forward-thinking planning. This role will report directly to the CEO and is designed for someone who wants to take ownership of a field sales team and apply sales excellence to support the further growth aspirations of the business.

The opportunity:
  • Overall responsibility for monthly/annual sales objectives being met.
  • Ensure our top 25-30 customers are well looked after, and we have clear plans to grow our share of their total steel door business.
  • Be responsible for ensuring we have a pipeline of innovative new product requirements for an ever-changing market.
  • Weekly sales meetings to communicate overall strategy, progress updates, and important company matters.
  • Ensure a healthy pipeline of new products required by the market.
  • Be responsible for pricing, discount levels and price points in the market.
  • Weekly sales meetings to communicate overall strategy, progress updates, and important company matters.
  • Detailed weekly demand review with the sales team to understand deal flow and pipeline.
  • Participate in the weekly SIOP meeting at HQ to ensure Sales and Production are aligned on a 3-month forward forecast of value, mix, and volume.
You'll be the ideal candidate for this position if you have:
  • A history in leading national sales teams within the construction industry, preferably with a manufacturing organisation in the built environment.
  • The confidence and full accountability to lead on monthly sales forecasts.
  • A track record of rectifying underperformance and implementing robust recovery plans to win back the target if, for whatever reason, we fall short.
  • Experience using a CRM system to ensure a market-leading customer experience.
  • A background in providing clear leadership and vision, inspiring and motivating staff to achieve excellence and mentoring them as they develop new skills.
  • A data-driven approach to sales and margin growth. Using data, our new Head of Sales will be able to forecast and monitor progress through data.
  • The ability to drive Key Performance Indicators across all areas of the Sales function to ensure that monthly and quarterly revenue and profit objectives are met.
  • Project management, supplier experience, and excellent relationship management.
  • A mentor-and-coach approach to key members of the field sales team and an ability to outline development needs and training requirements.
