Your new company
We've partnered with a Central Government Authority in the search for a new Head of Organisational Development. This is a business-critical role that has responsibility for shaping, influencing, and setting the strategic direction for the Authority's organisational design, development, capability, and culture, and leading the delivery of our EDI objectives. The role is part-time, and on a fixed term basis for 12 months, with the possibility for extension.

Your new role
Reporting directly into the HR Director, the job holder will work at both strategic and operational levels across the organisation, applying their expertise to, for example, Operating Models and functional design for the next phase of the Authority's programme.Duties include but are not limited to:

Organisation Design, Development and Change

  • Lead the Authority's organisational design work, defining structures that meet the organisations' objectives (including the relationship to its supply chain) and work with managers to successfully create and drive complex change programmes, pre-empting change requirements and ensuring the organisation transitions in a seamless manner.
  • Lead work to ensure the Authority's organisational design principles are embedded and aligned into the Authority's Operating Models and organisation structures across the changing phases and carry out periodic measurements for success against the principles.
  • Embed organisational structures that enable ways of working that create a 'one team' mindset and align with the Authority's Values & Behaviours.

Learning

  • Embed a positive and proactive learning culture where individuals are encouraged and enabled to take personal accountability for managing their own career development.
  • Deliver our coaching & mentoring development programmes and provide facilitation services for managers and colleague networks.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

  • Take the strategic lead on the delivery of the DE&I strategy and action plan and ensure that appropriate governance and leadership is in place to support the Programme to deliver our DE&I objectives.

What you'll need to succeed

  • A proven track record and depth of experience as the OD expert on major infrastructure programmes or in highly complex and dynamic organisations.
  • A proven strategic thinker with the gravitas to influence thinking at senior levels, together with strong relationship management and communication skills.
  • Highly developed change management, negotiating and influencing skills, with evidence of application.
  • Significant and demonstrable expertise in leading and managing a team, as well as others across the full spectrum of organisation design and development work.
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative data analysis experience to inform and drive decision-making across business areas.
