Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Operations to join a growing SME business based in Stafford. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will lead our Warehousing Operations department with autonomy and authority, driving strategic initiatives and ensuring operational excellence.

In this role, you will lead strategic initiatives, manage budgets, and ensure smooth operations working in partnership with senior management, in line with the vision and ethos of the business. You will play a pivotal role in team development, process optimisation, and the implementation of cutting-edge IT systems to enhance productivity.

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 7.30am - 5pm (flexibility where required) -

Remuneration: £60,000- £65,000 (DOE), Profit related bonus, free lunch, NEST Pension, private healthcare, 23 days holiday + statutory

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic initiatives aligned with organisational objectives to improving operational efficiency, enhancing customer experience, and driving business growth.
  • Manage all facets of the operations department, including team development and process optimisation (goods in, despatch & QA).
  • Implement new IT systems and technologies to enhance productivity.
  • Oversee budget management and cost-saving measures.
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks while ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Establish performance metrics and KPIs to monitor operational effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • Proven leadership experience in warehousing operations management, within a consumables environment.
  • Proven experience of implementing operational efficiencies and continuous improvement.
  • Strong coaching and team development skills.
  • Proficiency in implementing IT systems and process optimisation strategies.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional work ethic and dedication to excellence.
