Head of Investment, Development & Partnerships

Our client, an established Housing Association has an exciting opportunity for a Head of Investment, Development & Partnerships to join their team!

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Homes Director to lead and manage the strategic delivery of our Investment, Decarbonisation and Development strategies, ensuring our customers have "Great Homes" that are fit for the future. Our focus is on zero tolerance for damp and mould in our properties.
  • Lead and manage the ongoing appraisal of our assets, on an individual basis and on a holistic basis when required.
  • Lead and manage the delivery of a high quality mixed tenure, land led, new build and regeneration programme, maintaining a pipeline of development opportunities to support sustainable growth and achievement of our strategic objectives.
  • Lead and manage the reduction of our carbon footprint in our properties; we aim for zero carbon.
  • Lead and manage the delivery of the sales programme and achieve targets in line with the strategic business plan.
  • Lead the Investment, Development and Partnerships team instilling a high performance culture to drive quality, value for money and continuous improvement in service delivery.
  • Lead on maintaining our existing partnerships and develop new partnership networks to provide growth in investment opportunities .
  • Deliver the Development, Investment and Decarbonisation Strategies ensuring all key milestones and actions are achieved.
  • Lead on sustainability issues to reduce our carbon footprint.
  • Deliver on the strategic aim to provide warm and safe homes that are net zero carbon.
  • Identify business development opportunities and develop and maintain a development pipeline.
  • Identify grant opportunities for development and investment projects.
  • Develop, implement and review the policies and procedures required to set the teams’ direction and provide legal and regulatory compliance assurance, ensuring they are adhered to.
  • Ensure the financial budgeting and forecasting for your teams is accurate, providing budget proposals to the Homes Director and other colleagues when required.
  • Establish and maintain strong business relations with local authority partners, Government, other local government agencies, property agencies, developers, investors, landowners and other Housing Associations and stakeholders to ensure the organisation is a preferred social landlord partner.

Essential

  • Valid UK Driving Licence.
  • Ability to travel independently to visit sites, properties etc.
  • A flexible approach to working hours/days will be essential for this post.
  • Degree level standard education and/or relevant professional qualification/or experience (e.g. RICS/RTPI/CIOH/RIBA/CIOB)
  • Relevant and proven experience in a strategic role in investment and development or related property field.
  • Knowledge of new build development principles and the ability to apply them within an organisation.
  • Experience of strategic asset management in an investment environment.
  • Proven experience of providing clear, informed and objective advice on strategic issues.
  • Proven experience of developing strong partnerships with external and internal stakeholders, establishing strategic partnerships and leading change programmes.
  • Proven experience of successfully leading and managing people, developing successful, cohesive and high performing teams and leading change.
  • Knowledge of the design and the construction of housing and the associated planning legislation and process
  • Knowledge of different types of building procurement methods and contracts
  • Knowledge of appropriate industry legislation.
  • Proven experience in setting and managing budgets and managing supplier performance.
  • Proven abilities in communicating clearly with and engaging stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience of setting, monitoring and managing budgets ensuring value for money
  • Experienced in developing strategy.
  • Experience of working with privacy and electronic communication regulations, data protection and GDPR regulations.

Desirable

  • Relevant sector experience in a similar role
  • Experience in Social Housing
  • Previous experience of working with funding and grant partners including working knowledge of Investment Partner status with Homes England
  • Working knowledge of environmental/sustainability principles relating to building and improving homes
