History Teacher - Second in Charge
  • Annual Salary: Enhanced Academy Salary Scale plus TLR 2a £3,214.00
  • Location: Bognor Regis
  • Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

An exciting leadership opportunity has arisen for an outstanding History practitioner to join our team as the Second in Charge of the History Department. This role is ideal for those looking to impact the continuous improvement of the subject and support the development and implementation of teaching and learning strategies within the department.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Support the Head of History in leading the department and driving forward the quality of teaching and learning.
  • Teach history across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially 5, delivering an ambitious history curriculum.
  • Mentor and guide staff and students, fostering a passion for history and encouraging academic excellence.
  • Contribute to the development of curriculum resources and innovative teaching practices.
  • Participate in and lead professional development activities within the department and the wider school community.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A proven track record as an excellent classroom practitioner in History.
  • Experience of teaching History at KS3 and KS4, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Leadership qualities with the potential to influence others and grow into an effective departmental leader.
  • Reflective, with a strong work ethic, high levels of emotional intelligence, and professional integrity.
  • Ambitious, quick to learn, and committed to personal and professional development.
