Our client is looking for a head chef to join their growing team in Harpenden. A high level sous chef would also be considered making this an ideal role for someone looking to further their career.

This restaurant serves bistro pub style food, Sunday's tend to be their busiest day usually serves 100 covers. Other days tend to be between 60-80 covers.

Roles & responsibilities include:

  • Manage the kitchen to ensure food service is always excellent
  • All ordering for the kitchen including food, equipment & cleaning products and ensure all stock and ordering is accurate to maximise cashflow
  • Ensure that hygiene & cleanliness of the kitchen is to the highest standard
  • Work with the pub manager to ensure service levels are at the highest standard

The applicant should excel in being:

  • Friendly & approachable
  • Hands on and self motivated
  • Having great leadership skills & the ability to lead from the front
  • Proud of their inhouse cleanliness and always have good personal hygiene
  • In busy working environments
  • Excited about specials, new menus, and promotions.

45 Hours a week shift rotation- hours of service- Mon-fri- 12-3pm and 5:30pm-9pm Sat- 12-9pm Sun-12-5pm -Aim for one weekend off a month- Owner mentioned that he wants to accommodate and understands work-life balance.

Salary between £25-35,000 (plus tips) depending on experience and this is negotiable for the right applicant.
