Rayment Recruitment is currently recruiting for an educational site in Colchester, and we have a fantastic opportunity for a Head Chef/Chef Manager to join their team.

This highly respected site in Colchester has a fantastic reputation in the local area for their high standards in all departments. This also includes the kitchen where the chefs work to strict guidelines, using fresh local produce, to ensure all students and staff are well fed to restaurant standards.

This site produces around 600-800 meals a day; the kitchen operates a traditional British fresh food menu, and the current brigade stands at 7. They also cater for some events in the summer months.

Ideal candidate

My client is looking for a Head Chef who can handle the busy environment of their kitchen, manage a team of 7 and have excellent management skills. The ideal candidate will be hard working, passionate about food , be a born leader and looking to take the current menu to the next level.

As Head Chef you must be able to demonstrate a solid background in fresh food and have a flair and originality to bring to the existing team and a desire to improve the current level of food.

This position will suit someone who is very hands on! And is looking for a better work life balance, as you will only be required to work 7am-4.30pm and the odd occasional evening if an event is running through the summer months or 1 evening every few months. My client would consider applications from sous and head chef candidates with solid management experience.

The location is accessible by public transport or car parking Is available on site.

A DBS is preferable but not essential as this can be obtained at a later stage.
