Gleeson Recruitment Group are working exclusively with a PE backed, multisite business, who have gone through exceptional and unprecedented growth, who are looking to appoint a Group Financial Controller. This is a remote position, with very occasional requirements to meet other team members around the UK.

As the Group Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, reporting directly to the Group Head of Finance and working closely with executive leadership. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact within a high-growth environment, shaping financial strategy, and contributing to the company's continued success.

Key responsibilities of the Group Financial Controller position:

  • Oversee the financial planning and analysis process, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic planning.
  • Develop and implement robust financial controls and procedures to safeguard assets and optimise operational efficiency.
  • Produce accurate and timely financial reports for internal stakeholders, executive leadership, and external parties, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial processes, systems, and reporting capabilities.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making across the organisation.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial service providers.
  • Support M&A activities, including due diligence, integration, and post-acquisition financial management.

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Must be either ACA or ACCA qualified
  • Proven experience in a senior finance role, with a track record of success in a high-growth environment, preferably within a PE-backed company or multisite business.
  • Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of GAAP/IFRS; experience with consolidations and complex financial structures.
  • Excellent leadership and team management capabilities, with a collaborative and inclusive leadership style.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present financial information effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Hands-on approach, with a willingness to dive into details while also maintaining a big-picture perspective.
  • Experience with financial systems implementation and optimisation is a plus.
