The Role:

Salary: Circa £90k - £110k + Competitive Bonus + Excellent Benefits
Location: London (with some hybrid working)

My client is a rapidly growing listed international organisation offering a range of solutions to the global Financial & Professional Services sector. As part of their exciting growth plans an opportunity exists to join the organisation in a Group Financial Controller role, a key appointment as they continue the transformation of their business support functions sitting within the central financial function based out of the London HQ and will provide senior leadership in relation to Group reporting activities, alongside support with a strong pipeline of transformation related projects which will further improve the annual reporting obligations and broader governance which surround a listed business.

* Lead the ongoing development of Group Reporting activities, including production of the Annual Report, supporting internal stakeholders and senior leadership.
* Play a pivotal role in the development and delivery of the Finance target operating model (TOM), supporting the broader objectives of the business.
* Support the Group FD and CFO in driving a best-in-class annual Group financial reporting timetable, alongside the delivery of transformation-based initiatives and projects.
* Central leadership to Group auditing processes and external stakeholder oversight.
* Lead and mentor the existing central finance team through a period of sustained change via energetic and inspiring leadership, fostering their professional growth and development.
* Demonstrate a willingness to be 'hands-on' in the reporting cycle, whilst constantly looking to support the development of those within the team to enable tasks to be handed down.
* Experience of producing primary statements such as cash flow statements is key.
* Drive enhancements to the Management Accounts, ensuring information is timely and value-add.
* Optimise the use of system generated, automated reporting through understanding the needs of key stakeholders.

The Person

* Degree educated 2.1 from a reputable institution, fully qualified to ACA, CTA, ACCA with 5 years PQE.
* Ambitious and driven individual with career progression aspirations, which would naturally provide successional planning options for the senior leadership team.
* Previous senior financial management experience with a mix of practice (ideally big 6) with either/or direct support to listed clients or time in industry which would provide this level of exposure.
* Candidates should have subsequent time in industry, financial or professional services preferred, but not essential. Ideally this experience will be aligned to a more technical / statutory accounting context where group entity annual reporting has been a central theme.
* Personal characteristics are crucial to success in this role, candidates should bring an energy and enthusiasm to driving transformation and evolving a best-in-class service to the wider business.
* Candidates should be comfortable and thrive in a high change, non-steady state culture, with a natural affinity to supporting and motivating other members of the team/stakeholders to navigate change.
* Excellent rapport building and communication skills, and confidence in communicating and working effectively with multiple stakeholders across the group and externally.
