Group Financial Accountant

Robert Half are pleased to partner with a financial services business to recruit their new Group Accountant. Due to rapid organic growth and a recent acquisition, the Group Financial Accountant will join the team to bolster the finance function based in Cambridgeshire.

Candidate profile

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant, most likely holding ACA or ACCA qualifications. The chosen candidate will demonstrate excellent technical accounting skills; attention to detail and will be happy working within a team environment that works largely remotely worldwide, be a motivated self-starter and should be able to demonstrate experience of the core requirements.

Role profile

Key tasks for the role will be as follows:

• Responsible for monthly financial close and reporting of smaller entities including multiple entities in the UK and internationally.
• Assist with preparation of month end close the consolidation of the group accounts
• Providing support with the external auditor process and production of the Plc Annual Report (interim and full year) and UK GAAP statutory accounts. Including preparation of lead schedules and providing information for audit requests.
• Assist with preparation of the Group monthly balance sheet and cashflow forecasts and budgets
• Work with the M&A function for onboarding of any acquisitions (pre and post)
• Support with the Board pack preparation process
• Providing support and information for our taxadvisors on the group's tax compliance and management, including;
  • corporation tax returns across the group
  • recognition and transfer pricing reviews and documentation
  • accounting for deferred tax
  • preparing and agreeing R&D tax credit claims
• Involvement and contribution in the implementation of systems and process improvements
• Assist with global treasury operations
