Graduate SQL Developer

My client are looking to add a Graduate SQL Developer to their Development and Reporting team. They have recently implemented a new CRM system. The right candidate will be joining a close-knit team in a profitable and ever-growing business where you will be integral becoming part of the technical roadmap and growth strategy.

We are looking for a driven, motivated individual with a determined mind-set and a willingness to learn. This person will work within the Development and Reporting team based out of their Welwyn Garden City office and will have the opportunity to help drive improved business intelligence within the company, through improved use of data capture and reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for a Graduate to improve their skills and be involved in all areas of development in the future including designing cloud infrastructure and developing applications in the Laravel Framework.

My client provides purchasing solutions to businesses requiring long term management and control of their overhead purchasing. Established for 25 years and employing over ninety staff, they are now one of the leading providers of expense reduction services in the UK with customers ranging from £billion turnover PLCs to SMEs and doctors surgeries.

Core Responsibilities for this SQL Developer role:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand software requirements, data requirements and report specifications.
  • Design and develop SQL queries to retrieve, manipulate, and transform data from various sources.
  • Create and maintain excel based reports with a plan to migrate these reports into a more interactive online environment.
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency, troubleshooting and resolving data-related issues.
  • Continuously optimise and enhance reporting processes to improve efficiency and quality.

Future Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the department with design and maintain the cloud infrastructure
  • Supporting the department to develop applications in the Laravel Framework

Core skills:

  • SQL (MySQL/ Postgres)
  • Excellent Excel Knowledge (VBA preferred but not essential)
  • Coding Knowledge (PHP preferred but not essential)
  • Communication Skills
  • Analytical Skills
