We are working with a specialist Independent Lloyds Broker and Reinsurance Broker who have grown consistently and have ambitious plans in the UK and Globally.

They are seeking entrepreneurial proactive individuals who want to be part of something and to make their mark in their specialist area.

As a Property Underwriter for our Lloyds of London independent broker firm, you will be responsible for evaluating and underwriting property insurance risks on behalf of our clients. Your primary duties will include analysing property insurance applications, conducting risk assessments, and determining appropriate premium rates.

Key responsibilities:

Reviewing and analysing property insurance submissions to determine appropriate coverage and pricing

Assessing the risk profile of properties based on factors such as location, construction type, occupancy, and loss history

Collaborating with brokers and clients to gather necessary information and clarify underwriting guidelines

Utilising underwriting tools and systems to evaluate risks and make informed underwriting decisions

Negotiating terms and conditions with clients to secure profitable business opportunities

Monitoring and managing a portfolio of property insurance policies to ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements

Providing support and guidance to junior underwriters and assisting with training and development initiatives

Keeping abreast of market trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments to enhance underwriting practices and maintain a competitive edge

Skills:

Property underwriting experience within the insurance industry, preferably with Lloyds of London exposure

Strong analytical and decision-making skills

Excellent communication and negotiation abilities

Proficiency in underwriting tools and systems

Knowledge of property insurance regulations and market dynamics

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
