We have a new role for a Global Marketing Manager (Aquafresh) on a full-time permanent basis.

Aquafresh is one of the world’s leading toothpaste brands.  A household name for many consumers, the brand has a long and rich history in oral health innovation and category development.  It has broad portfolio, including toothpaste, mouthwash and toothbrushes and a large geographic footprint, being sold in >50 countries across the world. The challenge for the brand is to remain relevant and appealing to the modern-day consumer, in the face of intense competition from Colgate & Oral B and the rise of therapeutic oral specialists. 

About The Role

This is an exciting role within the Aquafresh Category brand team – as the Global Marketing Manager (Aquafresh) you will lead key workstreams across Adult toothpaste and mouthwash, which have been identified as strategic growth pillars to help deliver our brand ambition.  This role provides an excellent exposure to all elements of the marketing mix from concept creation, innovation project management, communications development and market/stakeholder alignment. The successful candidate must therefore be able to demonstrate a high level of impact, both in personal style and through business results.  They will be operating within a close-knit team that operates with agility and a strong entrepreneurial approach – so high candidate is expected to operate with a high level of autonomy and drive.

Global roles are highly multi-cultural in nature and the successful candidate will also need to inspire and engage with multi-functional teams across the globe, adapting their approach to reflect cultural, capability & language diversity.

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities for this critical role within the Aquafresh team are to own and deliver major initiatives to drive the penetration of the brands whitening portfolio and identify and exploit tactical opportunities for growth, whilst being the primary accountable lead (PAL) for a number of key innovation projects.

This will involve the following

  • Development of category selling story for retail partners across channels and audiences    
  • Development of superior and differentiated claims - bringing innovation to life 
  • Creative work across all relevant touchpoints
  • Shopper activation direction and assets including D-comm
  • Manage key projects with Creative and Media Agencies ensuring clear prioritisation
  • Partner with local markets to understand their needs and ensure toolkits are fit for purpose
  • Review the brand ecosystem and consumer CEJ to ensure all campaigns are align to key MTMs

The Global Marketing Manager will specifically be responsible for:

Whitening strategy and kids innovation pipe

Optimising the strategy and activation plans to accelerate the penetration of the Aquafresh’s Whitening portfolio.  This will include being PAL for the brand’s biggest 2025 NPD and the development of the associate comms/shopper/FCP toolkit.  The candidate will also lead the development and alignment of the long-term innovation requirements for our kids portfolio.

Base Innovation

PAL for the relaunch of the brands’ core business, identifying consumer need gaps, leading claims and concept development.  The candidate would also manage product development, communication and toolkit development for this important relaunch.

Support Model

Work with GMD to create a model to enable markets of all sizes to maintain overall brand health whilst at the same time establishing and maintaining NPD.  Develop and execute learning plot and develop a best practice playbook to inform country media strategy.

Mouthwash pillar

Own the brand’s mouthwash pillar, ensuring implementation of pack change and identification of further growth opportunities via geo expansion.

Market engagement

Drive activation in selected markets (DACH, GBI, SA, RU) providing direction and support to accelerate the growth/maintain share and identifying distinct toolkit needs to feed into Global development.

Experience/ Qualifications

  • Highly effective and impactful brand building experience, specifically:
    • Demonstrated ability to identify and deploy powerful insights that drive growth
    • Strong ability to develop innovation/communications derived from consumer insights and data, coupled with proven delivery of flawless launches
    • Evidence of contributions to the strategic planning process Globally or locally
  • Proven track record of fostering effective, collaborative relationships with Regional & Local marketing teams
  • Demonstrated the ability to lead multiple projects and overcome complex challenges with successful outcomes, within a cross functional team
  • Deployed successful consumer connections at a global/local level
  • Proven track record of driving brand growth
  • Demonstrated ability in developing and executing innovation.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience in P&L/budget management, pricing and COGs strategy development
  • Outstanding influencing, interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
