Job Description

Following continued growth and expansion across the region, Sysco Ireland are now looking to strengthen their operations leadership team by introducing a regional structure to include three Regional General Managers. You will be responsible for the overall management of the Northern operational region for Sysco Ireland. This will include the new operation in Belfast (which opens in 2025), along with associated transit points within the region.

The role will include operational decision making through to professional development and succession planning, with a large mandate to supply and service the Sysco customer network across the Island. You will also contribute to and execute against the Sysco Ireland overall strategy and continued expansion, while managing your individual site operational plans, budgets and performance targets.

Further key responsibilities include:

  • Execute distribution and operational strategy in line with overall Group goals.
  • Establish and review site operational Plans, Budgets and KPIs/Performance Targets.
  • Financial control within budgetary remit - contribution to Group and local distribution and operational efficiency.
  • Managing a portfolio of business critical change projects.
  • Partnering with the commercial team and co-leading functional profitability forums.
  • Establish/implement depot succession plan, incl. employee training and development plans.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Regional General Manager will be based at Sysco's new operation in Belfast and will be required to demonstrate the following experience:

  • Proven experience in a site leadership role within a fast paced warehouse and transport operation.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with staff engagement at the core.
  • Commercially astute (including budget management experience) and highly experienced at successfully implementing change.
  • Customer focused in your approach.
  • Confident and consistent communicator with an ability to flex your style to ensure the message is understood regardless of the audience.
  • An insightful, data-savvy problem solver who has continuous improvement in your DNA.
  • The ability and confidence to interpret often ambiguous data in making timely decisions based on evaluation of the associated risks & subsequent impacts on all stakeholders.
