General Manager (Engineering Services)

£70,000 - £80,000 + Private Medical + Enhanced Pension + Bonus + Hybrid + Pay and Roll Progression

Are you a General Manager from a utilities & maintenance background with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels, looking for the opportunity to sculpt and evolve maintenance sales plans within a industry renowned specialist company where you will be working closely with some of the biggest utility companies in the UK?

On offer is the opportunity for a General Manager to use their analytical eye paired with their brilliant leadership abilities to deliver both project and framework maintenance sales by developing relationships with utility companies and contractor partners. This position will be working alongside a board of directors leading a key part of a Global Specialist Process Manufacturing Company.

You will managing a team of experienced service and maintenance engineers in their day to day operations whilst actively increasing the company's market share in existing water treatment markets and maximising new business opportunities in other industrial sectors. You will be using your managerial experience to guide, drive and develop sales performance, ensuring premium service is provided to each and every client, which will in turn see profitability skyrocket.

This role would suit a dynamic leader with exceptional business experience looking for a varied role where you will be a major part of a continuously growing specialist manufacturer and have a drawn-out path of progression.

The Role:

  • Develop sales strategy, tactics, and profit targets for maintenance sales
  • Cultivate relationships with utility companies and contractor partners to secure project and framework maintenance sales
  • Maintain strong corporate relationships with existing customers to ensure repeat business and secure bids for upcoming projects
  • repare annual business plan for the maintenance business unit and track performance against plan, taking corrective actions as needed
  • Forecast and plan team resources, identifying times of high demand and coordinating with other ERG departments for additional resources
  • Organize team structure for optimal efficiency
  • Take responsibility for the Profit and Loss (P&L) of the maintenance unit
  • Allocate projects effectively across the team
  • Develop team and individual performance to meet job requirements


The Person:

  • B2B technical sales experience
  • Experience in the water or Utilities sector
  • HNC or equivalent in an engineering or technical discipline
