FOOD EDUCATION COORDINATOR

  • Incredible opportunity to work on a Food related project for a TV programme on mainstream TV.
  • Post to start in September 2024 or sooner.
  • Ideally a Part Time commitment of 3 days per week.
  • Be a link contact working in schools alongside the project as a coordinator.
  • Based in Islington, Central London
  • Fixed term project for 4 months, although this could well be extended.

The Food Education Coordinator post will consist of:

  • Supporting the Food Education Team in developing and expanding the project within schools.
  • Helping to build resources for the Food Schools Programme to ensure they are relevant, useful and inline with curriculum expectation for 2024
  • Creating fun and inspiring supporting materials & worksheets.
  • Help advise web designers to create a fully functioning hub where teacher can access all the information they need/
  • Providing a point of contact for schools as the programme is rolled out.

About you - Food Education Coordinator - Qualifications and Experience desired:

  • You must be exciting by a challenge and be ready to build new experience
  • Food Technology experience and working in schools is essential.
  • Ideally you have a good understanding of the Key Stage 3 Food curriculum.
  • Prior experience of writing and creating education materials will be Teaching Science at both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • You will be working with a range of schools, therefore it is essential that you have excellent relationship building skills with both internal and external staff.
  • You should be enthusiastic by nature, committed, and hard-working and able to inspire within your subject area.
  • Qualified Teacher Status desirable with and appropriate degree qualifications in Food Technology / Nutrition.
  • Good interpersonal skills: the ability to work well with a wide range of people and also to use initiative -taking the lead when necessary.
  • Experience of improving the quality of teaching and learning through curriculum development and high-quality resources.
