The Client

Harmonic are delighted to be working on an exclusive basis with a luxury furniture business with their search for a hands-on and approachable Financial Controller. This would suit an ambitious and commercially astute finance professional seeking to grow with the business in the long-term.

With a turnover of circa £12m, our client is fast becoming a household name in their niche, paving the way with their unique designs and collaborations.

The Role

This business encompasses a dynamic working environment, and you will be surrounded by the best creative minds and a close-knit sociable team who are passionate about the designs that contribute to, and the vibe they create around the office. Reporting into the financially astute Managing Director, you will be the sole person in finance and you will takes ownership of management accounts, cash flow and commercially focussed duties such as budgeting and forecasting.

Responsibilities

• Ownership of management accounts
• Leading with budgeting and forecasting
• Preparing UK and EU VAT returns
• Creating financial reports for the board
• Overseeing cash flow forecasting and invoicing
• Conducting weekly payment runs and payroll
• Managing the year-end process
• Providing financial insights to support strategic decision making
• Identifying and analysing opportunities to increase profitability
• Supporting the Managing Director with ad-hoc finance duties

What we need to see (required):

• Finalist/newly qualified with ACCA or CIMA
• 5+ years experience in finance
• Comfortable with working in a small business environment
• Highly proficient in taking the lead with management accounts
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• What we'd like to see (bonus)
• Experience in luxury retail/furniture
• Multilingual - Italian speaking would be a big bonus!
• Knowledge of Sage

Location: Central London (On-Site)

Salary: £55,000 to £65,000 + bonus
