Finance Officer | Permanent | London | Hybrid | £35,000 - £40,000 + Benefits

For a global humanitarian charity in London, we're recruiting a permanent Finance Officer to lead on accounts payable, including payments to grantees, and cash advances and staff expenses both in the UK and for staff and consultants overseas. The Finance Officer will report to the Financial Accountant and will support in the preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliation, bank and treasury management, and the production of schedules for the year-end statutory accounts. This is a hybrid-working role with 2 days office-based in London.

What you'll be doing:

  • Preparing payment runs, ensuring correct coding of all costs and accuracy of documentation
  • Setting up payments for release, checking all staff and consultant expenses and monthly credit card claims including reconciliations
  • Assisting on process and systems and controls improvements, and act as first point of contact for all AP queries
  • Ensure all transactions are processed accurately in the system, reconcile all bank and credit card accounts
  • Assist with balance sheet reconciliation, and the maintenance of the first asset register
  • Support schedules for year-end statutory accounts and audit
  • Support with month-end tasks
  • Monitor bank balances and currency requirements

What you'll offer us:

  • Experience managing accounts payable in an international organisation
  • Experience working with multiple currencies
  • Experience of balance sheet reconciliation
  • Experience of working in the non-profit charity sector
  • Ideally experience of Microsoft Business Central
