Finance Officer

We are seeking a dedicated Finance Officer to join our construction company based in Gillingham. This is a temporary role with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. The role offers a chance to be part of a thriving team within the construction industry, with a salary of up to £26,000 per annum, depending on experience.

• Managing and processing invoices, payments, and financial statements.
• Assisting with budget preparation and budget monitoring.
• Handling payroll functions and ensuring accurate financial record keeping.
• Reconciling bank statements and resolving discrepancies.
• Preparing VAT returns and maintaining accurate financial records.
• Assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Providing financial support and advice to the management team.

• Proven experience in a finance role, preferably within the construction sector.
• Strong understanding of financial and accounting principles.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• AAT qualification or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
