Are you an experienced Finance Manager seeking a new challenge or assistant accountant role seeking that step up?

This role is seeking a self-starter, a great team player, and someone with experience in a busy accounts department to join the thriving and established finance team in Plymouth. This role is integral to the multi-faceted group of companies, which are at the forefront of the services they provide and have a commitment to environmental impacts by achieving a net zero status.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Working with the operational teams to establish accrued and deferred income and work-in-progress
  • Posting payroll journals
  • Preparation & submission of VAT returns
  • Credit card postings
  • Managing customer and supplier retentions
  • Supervision and oversight of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.  These functions are largely self-sufficient although there may be limited occasions where direct assistance is required in preparing payment runs, etc.
  • Liaising with year-end accountants/auditors and completing requests
  • Posting of year-end adjustments to Netsuite to ensure statutory accounts reconcile with management accounts
  • Management of the corporation tax and VAT position
  • Management of the intercompany position for cash flow forecasting and treasury management
  • Providing business analysis and assisting with month-end reporting
  • Providing support as required across the finance function in a growing business
  • Line management of 4 x direct reports (plus 1 x indirect report) 
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • ICAB or equivalent or QBE Bookkeeper/AAT Level 3 or above/equivalent with 3+ years sector/role experience.
  • Self-starter and great team player with good communication skills.
  • Office based on-site in Plymouth - NO hybrid options.
  • Experience working in NetSuite or a similar business package.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Experience working in a busy accounts department.
