Package: £50k-£65k dependent on experience, L&D, contributory pension, great culture
My client are a privately owned, leading SME business undergoing significant growth with plans to double revenue in the next 2 years. With customers spanning the UK, Europe and Globally they are well-known in their industry for their products and services. Working closely with the Directors and Portfolio FD, this role will lead the finance function day to day looking after 1 member of staff.
Role:
- Production of monthly management accounts including preparation of journals
- Take ownership of monthly balance sheet reconciliations (bank and cash, accruals, deferred income, trade creditors)
- VAT return preparation and submission for UK and European sales
- Manage external relationships across year end, VAT and payroll
- Working with department heads on financial modelling for new contracts
- Identify and embed key financial controls and processes across the business and implement a continual improvement approach to all systems/processes in finance
- Collaborate with the senior leadership team as a sounding board for financial and operational advice, providing commercial input to strategic decision making and day to day operational matters
- Mentor and develop finance team members
- Assist with financial forecasting and budgeting.
- Prepare financial analysis to support decision making on new products/services/agreements
- Oversee stock management, expenses & export process with regards to finance
Experience:
- ACCA/CIMA qualified OR QBE with proven experience of the below
- SME experience essential
- European VAT/EU export knowledge essential
- Recurring revenue knowledge highly desirable
- Hands on, commercial approach with confidence to work with Directors daily
- Experience implementing/updating systems desirable
