We are working with a local authority in Huddersfield to find a Finance Manager within Adult's Social Care on an interim basis. 

Umbrella Day Rate: Up to £500  
Location: Huddersfield. Initially in office once every 1/2 weeks. Can move to remote after initial weeks depending on progression.  
Job Type: Contract  
Start Date: ASAP  

This role is based within the Adult’s Social Care team and offers the opportunity to be part of a service that ensures our expert knowledge makes a difference.

Day to Day of the role:

- Provide a comprehensive, high-quality financial service, including the management and supervision of staff.  

- Manage a finance team, serve as a positive role model, and ensure commitment towards team goals and service vision and priorities.  

- Create positive working relationships, committed to developing your team and yourself.  

- Support the Head of Service as a member of the Finance Manager Group.  

- Ensure financial management services are directed and controlled in accordance with statutory, financial, and Council procedures.  

Required Skills & Qualifications:

- Member of a recognised CCAB professional accountancy body.  

- Experience in resource and business planning within a local authority or similarly complex organisation.  

- Awareness of current issues affecting local government and the financial implications for local authorities.  

- Experience with complex financial systems in a large organisation.  

- Experience in preparing budgets, financial and service plans, and monitoring mechanisms.  

- Experience in producing business cases for investment and managing risk.
