Facilities Operative

We are seeking a Facilities Operative to join our dynamic team at a leading creative industries education provider. The role involves providing technical and operational support across our Guildford campus, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for students and staff. This full-time position requires flexibility to work on a rota basis, including some weekends for events.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Complete daily tasks as assigned by the supervisor, including setup for lectures and events.
  • Communicate effectively with the team, submitting reports and updates to the head of facilities.
  • Use scheduling tools to coordinate with technicians and ensure all preparations are carried out.
  • Assist with the functionality, tidiness, and safety of workshop and storage areas.
  • Conduct self-assessments to maintain high standards of service.
  • Report building repairs and maintenance needs to the Facilities Supervisor.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings to plan support for upcoming events and track productivity.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Excellent organisational skills and reliability.
  • Professional demeanor with effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team.
  • Proactive thinking with the ability to work independently.
  • Multitasking and prioritising skills.
  • Attention to detail and efficient administrative abilities.
  • Proficiency in IT and a solid understanding of sound recording and performance equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot a wide range of issues in pressured environments.

Desired Skills:

  • PAT test training.
  • Full and Clean Class B UK driving licence.
  • First Aid, Fire Marshal, and Health & Safety training.
  • Advanced studio and live sound knowledge.
  • Soldering skills.
