Extrusion Setter/Operator

Our client is a leading UK manufacturer and distributor within the swimming pool industry. They are currently looking for Extrusion Setter/Operator to join their hardworking team in St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex.

The ideal candidate will possess demonstrable experience within a similar role, be computer literate, and possess a good understanding and knowledge of machinery and tool care.

As an Extrusion Setter/Operator, you will be operating all machinery within the H.S.E regulations, setting and changing tooling on the extrusion machinery and ensuring that starting up and shut down procedures for the extrusion machines are performed correctly and safely.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualities:

• Demonstrable experience within a similar role
• Ability and aptitude for manual/mechanical work
• Be a strong team player
• Possess a good understanding and knowledge of machinery and tool care
• Be computer literate
• Possess appropriate health and safety experience/training within a manufacturing environment

Your duties as an Extrusion Setter/Operator would be:

• Operating all machinery within the H.S.E regulations
• Setting and changing tooling on the extrusion machinery
• Ensuring that starting up and shut down procedures for the extrusion machines are performed correctly and safely
• Monitoring the day to day tasks of all staff working on extrusion machines and dealing with any issues or problems as appropriate or report them to the manager
• Following drawings where detailed and applicable
• Carrying out duties in accordance with instructions as detailed on the works orders
• Ensuring all dies are cleaned, sprayed and polished within a reasonable time frame but no longer than a week after use
• Moving completed pipe jobs to the yard to ensure space is kept available
• Maintaining an organised and clean working area ensuring that all spills are cleaned as soon as possible but always ensuring the pedestrian walkway is clear
• Working to instructions as laid down by the Manager
• Ensuring quality checks are carried out in accordance with the Company procedures

Salary:

£25,000 - £30,000 per annum depending on experience

Hours:

• Monday – Thursday, 6am – 5pm
• 42 hours per week
• Permanent
