Engineering Training Manager
  • Location: Hampshire
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Salary Range: £54,000

We are seeking an Engineering Training Manager to lead our commercial engineering contracts and ensure the delivery of high-quality education. Reporting to the Head of Faculty, you will manage the bidding and tendering for new contracts, identify market opportunities, and oversee a team of professionals. This role is crucial for the improvement of course delivery in Mechanical and Electrical/Electronic Engineering across FE, HE, and Apprenticeships.

Day to Day of the Role:
  • Oversee a range of courses and apprenticeships, ensuring alignment with employer needs and high-quality delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with employers regarding learner progress and new business opportunities.
  • Lead and coordinate the commercial engineering team to achieve excellence in service and curriculum development.
  • Manage the bidding and tendering process for new commercial contracts.
  • Support the Faculty Head in managing budgets and strategic development.
  • Ensure achievement rates are high and regularly report progress to employers and the Faculty Head.
  • Monitor and support learners to ensure successful completion of their programmes.
  • Manage resources to meet learners’ needs without compromising the learning experience.
  • Plan timetables to maximise resource utilisation.
  • Perform performance management and personal development reviews for the team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Extensive management experience.
  • Demonstrable teaching experience within FE from Level 2 to Level 4.
  • Deep understanding of apprenticeship standards.
  • Degree or equivalent vocational qualification in Mechanical and/or Electronic Engineering.
  • Industry and teaching experience in the relevant engineering fields.
  • Experience in bidding, tendering, and winning contracts is advantageous.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using E-Systems for learning and assessment.
