Do you have leadership and project management experience, from an electrical / controls background, seeking a pivotal role for a company which is rapidly expanding, having doubled in size in the last 18 months, where you will play a crucial role in their ongoing success, leading projects and highly skilled engineers, as it continues to grow?

The company provide hybrid power and monitoring systems with sophisticated control, which combine renewable energy sources with traditional power sources, enabling reduced emissions and improved energy efficiency. They develop cutting-edge technologies to provide the latest solutions for applications in marine, off grid and specialist vehicles.

You will have the ability and autonomy to affect real change, leading a team of specialists in the fields of electrical design, controls, mechanical design, electronics, firmware and software. You will be responsible for ensuring the engineering department runs efficiently, developing lean methodologies, SOP's and working on continuous improvement. You will lead all projects, ensuring the right engineers are allocated to specific projects, leading review sessions.

You will work as part of the senior leadership team to grow the team ongoing, whilst developing more junior members.

The role:

  • Lead projects, ensuring the right engineers are allocated to the right projects, reviewing ongoing progress
  • Lead a team of 10-15 engineers, ensuring the department runs efficiently
  • Track progress with ongoing projects through project review sessions
  • Assess productivity and skill to ensure additional training and mentorship can be provided as required
  • Develop junior engineers
  • Manage the engineering budget
  • Work as part of the senior leadership team, providing clarity on ongoing projects and ensuring they are kept on track

The person:

  • Background in electrical / controls manufacturing
  • Leadership & project management experience
  • Experience in Lean Development
