JOB- Engineering Manager

LOCATION- Coventry     

TERM- Permanent

SALARY- £45,000 – £55,000, dependant on experience

My client design and manufactures a range of bespoke commercial rooms for a variety of clients. They are looking to take on a Engineering Manager, on a permanent basis, in Coventry.

The Engineering Manager will ideally have the following attributes:
  • BSc / BEng in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • 3 or more years of experience managing an Engineering team
  • Hands-on background working in a Mechanical Design role / on a shop floor environment
  • Proven ability to delegate tasks and effectively manage responsibilities
  • Design experience in Retail / Commercial / Building Services or similar environments
  • Good mathematical and general engineering knowledge
  • Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials – sheet metal, castings, machining etc.
  • Experience with 3D CAD Packages, Inventor is desired
  • Ability to drive Engineering development
  • The ability to understand system requirements
  • Be self-motivated with excellent attention to detail
  • Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
The Engineering Manager role will involve:
  • Managing the Engineering team of a mid-size, family-owned company   
  • Being involved with Engineering/Design as well as overseeing BOM creation, New Product Development and Process Development
  • Effectively delegating tasks, motivating the team, organising processes and overseeing all manufacturing
  • Helping to develop existing products on a technical level
  • Liaising with customers as required keeping them up to date with project progress
  • Producing technical drawings as needed
  • Offering technical support
  • Sourcing and selecting components that are required
  • Working in a small, multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
