Engineering Manager, Scrum Master
UK, Remote, Circa £100k/annum + benefits

Position Overview:

This is a brand new role for our cutting edge Healthtech client. They are hiring for an Engineering Manager/Scrum Master to join and lead their software development efforts.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, process design, iteration management, and agile methodologies, with experience in managing the transition of products from development to operations, including software release processes. Knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly AWS, is highly preferred.

Ideally, you will come from a development background, but this is a not a hands-on development role.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of 9 software developers, ensuring high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Implement and optimize agile methodologies (Scrum) to drive efficient and effective software development processes.
  • Oversee the design, development, testing, and deployment of software solutions across multiple projects.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project goals, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Manage the transition of software products from engineering to operations, including release management and deployment strategies.
  • Drive process design and iteration to improve team productivity, code quality, and delivery timelines.
  • Mentor and coach team members to foster a culture of learning, innovation, and accountability.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to guide technical decision-making and strategy.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in software engineering and leading a team.
  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) and experience as a Scrum Master.
  • Proficiency in software release processes, version control systems, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Experience managing software development teams across multiple projects or product lines.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and experience with cloud-based architectures and services.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving results and meeting project deadlines.
