Imperial Recruitment Group are delighted to announce that we are working in partnership with a Training Provider who are recruiting for an Engineering Apprenticeship Coordinator on a Permanent basis.

Salary: Up to £38,000 per annum

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: Middlesbrough

Hours: Full Time

Job Purpose

The Engineering Apprenticeship Coordinator will support the Engineering Apprenticeship Team providing support and guidance whilst managing a reduced cohort of Engineering Apprentices. The Engineering Apprenticeship Coordinator will liaise closely with Employers and have a key role in developing learners to achieve their goals through effective design and delivery of learning programmes and assessments, inspiring them to overcome barriers enabling them to successfully achieve their Apprenticeship Standard. Additionally, the Engineering Apprenticeship Coordinator will conduct IQA, complete staff appraisals, qualify apprenticeship job opportunities and lead on apprenticeship enrichment activities.

Responsibilities:

  • To plan, conduct and participate in induction and initial assessment of learners to identify realistic learning priorities and, in liaison with the employer, develop individual learning plans and agree realistic completion targets. This will include ensuring that employers have a full understanding of their role within an Apprenticeship.
  • To develop, manage and maintain good relationships with external partners, local employers and appropriate agencies to recruit learners.
  • To provide information, advice and guidance to learners and employers to promote learning and timely achievement of the agreed learning aims and SMART objectives.
  • Assessment of knowledge, skills and behaviours within apprenticeship standards.
  • To maintain a minimum caseload of learners. Assist them to achieve qualifications and the Apprenticeship Standard preparing them for End Point Assessment.
  • Where required, support commercial training and upskilling through NVQs and adhoc courses.
  • Support the Business Development team to identify opportunities with new and existing employers.
  • To work in a team to plan and deliver a structured curriculum to that meet the learning needs of learners and the delivery and assessment of knowledge, skills and behaviours.
  • Support the continued evaluation of learning needs and objectives, through regular review and attendance as required at best practice groups.
  • To comply with the contractual standards with emphasis on recruiting participants, managing retention and achievements.
  • To establish a purposeful learning environment, where learners feel safe, secure, confident and valued.
  • To meet targets and support the organisation in the delivery of its’ corporate strategy.
  • To conduct health and safety risk assessments of employers / potential employers ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, prior to finalising a contract work based training.
  • To contribute to the performance management of the programme, monitoring key performance indicators, such as learner numbers, attendance, timeliness of achievement.
  • To participate in the continuous improvement cycle through programme and self-assessment reviews, attendance at staff meetings, working groups, development projects and activities related to the Education Inspection Framework.
  • Market & promote Northern Skills services to identify potential learners and employers to effectively contribute to the recruitment of learners.
  • To develop, manage and maintain good relationships within the engineering apprenticeship team.
  • Conduct IQA on engineering standards and Support the departments Work Scrutiny process.
  • To coordinate Apprenticeship enrichment activities

Experience:

  • Level 3 or equivalent in relevant occupational area- Essential
  • English and Maths GCSE grade C or above- or equivalent - Essential
  • TAQA Level 3 (Assessors) or A1 assessor qualification - Essential
  • Teaching qualification - Desirable.
  • TAQA Level 4 (IQA, Award in Internal Verification or V1) - Desirable.
  • Practical occupational experience.
  • Proven track record of consistently achieving performance targets.
  • Proven track record of imparting skills and learning to others.
  • Experience of assessing in engineering.
