The Role:
Our client is a leading sheet metal manufacturing company, is seeking a detail-oriented and organised Engineering Administrative Assistant to join their team. As a key player in their administrative operations, you will play an important role in supporting their manufacturing processes, ensuring efficient workflow, and contributing to the overall success of the business. The ideal candidate will be proficient in using PCs, have advanced Excel skills, and possess an understanding of ERP systems.

Key Responsibilities:
Order Processing: Efficiently handle customer orders, ensuring accuracy in specifications and delivery timelines.
Data Management: Maintain and update records using our ERP system, ensuring data integrity and accessibility for relevant departments.
Communication: Liaise with various teams, suppliers, and customers to facilitate smooth operations and timely delivery of services.
Document Control: Manage and organise engineering drawings, ensuring they are accessible to the relevant teams and conform to quality standards.
Process Improvement: Actively seek opportunities for business and process improvement. Propose and implement ideas to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Basic Engineering Understanding: Develop a foundational understanding of their sheet metal manufacturing processes, including laser cutting, press brake folding, tube lasering, welding, rubber lining, shot blasting, painting, powder coating, and galvanising.
Problem Resolution: Address day-to-day operational challenges promptly, collaborating with different departments to find effective solutions.

Requirements:

  • Experience using Microsoft Office, in particular Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and their functionalities.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration.
  • Proactive mindset with a keen interest in identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy in daily tasks.
  • Some experience using CAD software is desirable but not essential.
