A leading Infrastructure Consulting firm is looking for Energy specialist candidates with a focus on either Hydrogen or Electrical to join their business.

The business has won multiple awards for best in class across a range of industries and services and is recognised as a leader in their field. They offer a suite of services to clients across the built environment, from advisory to construction and engineering, digital, sustainability, and project & programme management - along with having an excellent culture. The business provides candidates the opportunity to work on some of the most complex and forward thinking built environment projects in the market, which really make a difference to communities and business.

The candidates coming in will sit in a small Energy Consulting team with a focus either on Hydrogen or Electrical, undertaking the following types of projects:

  • Lead and support project teams and guide senior leaders in developing strategies, solutions, and integrated project schemes for both public sector and private sector clients.
  • Consult on net zero solutions and decarbonisation developments under various energy vectors & domains. In particular, low carbon hydrogen, CCUS, Wind, Solar, New Fuels & Tidal as well as energy distribution, district heating/cooling, renewable electricity generation (solar photovoltaic, wind and biomass), low carbon heat generation.
  • Work on engineering, sustainability policy development and analysis, carbon management, renewables and climate services with regional stakeholders.
  • Work for a range of clients including national, regional, and local government, energy developers, education establishments, industry, SMEs & healthcare providers.
  • Decarbonisation masterplanning at an estate, city, regional and national scale.

This role is hybrid with time in office, client site and home. The team is based in several offices across the North including; Manchester, York, Sheffield, Leeds, Liverpool.

The ideal candidate(s) will have the following experience:

  • Degree in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, Energy or related discipline
  • Chartership or membership of relevant professional institution(s) is a plus. Although it is not essential it is expected that you will be on the path to having chartership or membership of a relevant institution.
  • Candidates with energy modelling, and related financial analysis techniques along with cross-disciplinary knowledge in the energy sector will be an advantage.
  • Strong interest in green economy, environmental and sustainability issues, with a true passion and growth mindset in making a positive impact on sustainability.
  • An ability to lead technical consulting projects including energy infrastructure feasibility studies and portfolio or area energy strategies, as well as advising public and private sector clients on options, risks, and appropriate actions in their pursuit of net zero carbon
  • Experience of working in multidisciplinary technical design teams, applying technical standards and project management processes.
  • Be able to undertake strong project and technical analysis, reporting and presentation.
  • Be able to develop business cases for energy investments and infrastructure refurbishments

Salary is also negotiable, based on experience and performance through the process.
