Employee Relations & Policy Manager- 6 months FTC

Location: Nottingham City Centre/ Hybrid (2 days onsite)

Salary: £40000 - £45000

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Employee Relations & Policy Manager to join this prestigious financial services business which is going through a period of change, with an emerging new strategy and new leaders who are seeking to drive growth and success through great talent & teams.

As Employee Relations & Policy Manager, you will be working closely with the People & Development Management and Business Partner team in developing and delivering practices to enhance positive employee experiences, including people and development policies and practices, provision of Employee Relations advice, coaching and training while ensuring compliance with employment legislation.

In this role, you'll have the autonomy to develop, implement, and refine HR policies and procedures that align with our values and objectives. Your expertise will be instrumental in promoting fairness, equity, and transparency across all aspects of our organisation.

To be successful you will have a positive and pro-active approach, ideally with experience working in an agile, fast paced business.

This is a newly created position where you will have a real opportunity to shape this role and add significant value to the business as an ER and Policy SME!

What you'll be doing as an Employee Relations & Policy Manager;

  • Manage all ER cases ensuring case management & employee relations issues are managed fairly, consistently and in line with policies
  • Develop tools and relevant ER training to enhance line managers' knowledge and ability to self-serve on ER matters
  • Use MI to identify any trends and design solutions to combat any ER issues
  • Provide professional advice, guidance and documentation to stakeholders on policies, employee relations and employment law matters
  • Perform horizon scanning and keep stakeholders informed of any changes in legislation
  • Design, review and update People Policies and employment contracts

What you'll need to be successful;

  • A passion for delivering high quality people experiences
  • Exceptional relationship building, communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to coach business leaders in effectively managing cases and people issues
  • Excellent investigation, negotiation, and conflict management skills
  • A calm and measured approach - you will be able to demonstrate confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of best practice in Employee Relations and case management
  • Experience in developing and implementing people and development policies, practices & procedure
