Position: Embedded Software Engineer

Salary: Up to £60,000 + benefits

Location of Office: Birmingham

The role: As our client continue to grow their engineering team, they are now seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join them working in their North Birmingham based office. They work to a 4-day week, so everybody gets long weekends and can offer hybrid work from home where suitable.

The successful Embedded Software Engineer will be joining a small, growing team with plenty of new product development to get stuck into. Our client have an exciting roadmap ahead and such are looking to add people with industry experience to the team.

You will be experienced enough to manage your own time and workload and be expected to contribute from initial concept through to in house manufacturing and assembly done onsite. You will be strong coding Embedded C/C++ and have worked with a range of serial comms (RS232, RS485, CAN, I2C etc) and STM32 Cube IDE. Whilst any experience at hardware level or integrating firmware solutions to functional safety standards will make your CV standout.

This role will best suit an Embedded Software Engineer who is passionate about developing innovative software solutions for a product range that improves people's lives. You will be comfortable in a small team environment and enjoy the variety of work this style of working presents.

Skills and experience required:

  • Embedded C/C++
  • RTOS Development - ThreadX ideally
  • STM32 Cube IDE
  • IAR tool chain

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Python
  • CAN, RS232, RS485, I2C, Ethernet protocols
  • Functional safety standards
