Exciting Opportunity for an Electronics Test Technician (Engineer)

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Electronics Test Technician (Engineer) to join their dynamic team at their Thatcham-based warehouse. This is a full-time position within our Enhanced Inspection Department, offering immediate start and long-term career growth opportunities.

As an Electronics Test Technician, you will be an integral part of our Enhanced Inspection team, responsible for conducting visual inspection and electronic component testing. Working in a temperature and humidity-controlled room, you will utilise your expertise to perform a range of tests including visual inspection, testing capacitance and resistance using an LCR metre, X-raying internal structures of electronic devices, evaluating solderability of terminals and component leads, and utilising XRF to determine material makeup. Additionally, you may also be involved in chemical and heated decapsulation.

We encourage applicants with extensive knowledge of electronics theory to apply. Familiarity with Ohm's Law, resistor and diode identification, DC Circuit theory, transducers, integrated circuits, component programming, as well as power and signal waveforms would be advantageous. While experience in CPU and memory testing is also preferred, it is not a critical requirement for this role.

To be successful in this role, you should possess a BTEC/ONC/HNC/C&G/Apprenticeship or equivalent in electronics engineering. Attention to detail, reliability, and a quality-conscious approach are essential attributes for this role. Furthermore, excellent written English skills and the ability to conduct and write test reports are paramount. Knowledge of industry standards such as AS6081, AS6171, ISO17025, and IDEA 1010B would also be advantageous, though not mandatory.

Our client offers a competitive yearly salary ranging from £28,000 to £32,000 for this permanent, full-time position, working Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5pm and Friday 8.30am to 5pm.
