Engineering Technician - Electronics R&D

As an Engineering Technician, you'll be at the heart of their R&D operations, ensuring the smooth functioning of the workshop and laboratories. From maintaining equipment to assisting with prototyping and testing activities, your role will be varied and important.

Here's a glimpse of what you'll be doing:

• Maintain and calibrate test equipment and facilities, ensuring they meet the highest standards.

• Organize and manage R&D test equipment and facilities efficiently.

• Procure consumables, spare parts, and equipment essential for R&D activities.

• Uphold safety standards within workshops and laboratories, ensuring proper training and awareness among users.

Assisting with R&D activities:

• Conduct component research and order components for prototyping.

• Assemble prototypes through soldering, wiring, and other electronics skills.

• Collaborate with global factories for prototype manufacturing builds.

• Aid in fault finding and resolution across their product range.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electronic schematics and layouts.

• Hands-on experience in building prototype boards and diagnosing faults.

• Strong electronics workshop skills, including soldering and use of test equipment.

• Previous experience in technician roles supporting R&D and prototyping activities.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

• A proactive, analytical mindset with a can-do attitude.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Qualifications & Experience:

We typically look for candidates with HNC/HND or City & Guilds qualifications in electronics, but also welcome applications from people who have real world experience in roles like this (regardless of formal qualifications).
