Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum

Reed Engineering are working with a fantastic Food Manufacturer and I am currently seeking an Electrical Project Engineer with a strong background in PLCs to lead our electrical engineering projects within the factory value stream. This role is essential for overseeing the development and implementation of electrical projects, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards, and driving continuous improvement with a focus on automation and control systems.

Day to Day of the role:

• Oversee and manage electrical projects from conception to completion, ensuring they meet all technical requirements, deadlines, and budget constraints.
• Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, ensuring all electrical work adheres to health and safety standards.
• Develop and maintain electrical systems and procedures in line with engineering requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure harmony between departments and successful project integration.
• Manage relationships with external contractors, suppliers, and OEMs to ensure high-quality service and knowledge sharing.
• Lead the electrical aspect of the engineering Daily Review Process, maintaining visibility of project performance.
• Develop and manage the electrical maintenance strategy, including continuous improvement projects and capital expenditure projects within the value stream.
• Create and oversee the electrical maintenance and overhaul plan for all production lines, including contractor management.
• Attend and manage electrical engineering escalations through the Daily/Weekly Reliability Review.
• Develop, manage, and review electrical PMs, calibrations, and work orders.
• Coordinate critical inputs to electrical engineering activity across various departments, including Quality and Food Safety, Health and Safety, Environment, technical buying, R&D, Manufacturing, and reliability.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven project management experience in an engineering environment.
• Strong background in PLCs and automation systems.
• Demonstrated success in implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety and Hygiene procedures.
• Experience in an FMCG environment.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical systems within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in change management and leading cross-functional teams.
