£30,000 - £46,525 /Annum Dependent on Payscale, plus TLR allowance for Leadership responsibilities.

Empowering Learning are a market leading education recruitment company. We are working in partnership with a large Secondary School in Chesterfield who are looking to appoint an experienced Drama Teacher on a permanent basis and take lead on the Drama curriculum within the school. The appointed candidate will be responsible for curriculum development within Drama, have responsibility for high achieving GCSE and A-Level groups, and be keen and willing to fully integrate themselves within the school environment, including production of the school Musical.

You will be working within a Secondary School with deep rooted history, a wholly collaborative teaching and leadership team, and the opportunity to work with students who deeply care about their education, excel academically and behave in line with expectations in the classroom. The job

  • The school is looking for someone who is passionate about Drama and Theatre, to provide the very best opportunity for students across the school.
  • In this exciting role, you will contribute to the strategic direction of your subject development, to enhance the provision of Drama Teaching practice across the school.
  • You will be responsible for the full planning and preparation of your lessons, including the design of a scheme of work and direction for the department.
  • To provide outstanding teaching for learning which meets the needs of all students.
  • To support the school raising standards of teaching and learning across the department and in monitoring progress towards agreed aims.
  • To provide specialist subject expertise to assist departmental staff, as appropriate.
  • To support the school in the implementation of agreed whole school policies and initiatives.

The successful candidate will

  • Hold a teaching qualification (QTS) Specialising in Secondary Drama.
  • Hold a degree or equivalent.
  • Have outstanding teaching practice.
  • Have experience of implementing a range of strategies to raise student achievement, with evidence of success.
  • Contribution to impact on the quality of learning and teaching and curriculum.
  • A proven track record of excellent results at both GCSE and A-Level.
  • Have experience of high-quality pupil tracking and feedback practices.
