Job Opportunity: School Cleaners in Darlington and Surrounding Areas

Position: School Cleaner Location: Darlington and Surrounding Areas Hours: Full or Part-time (Flexible shifts available) Salary: Competitive hourly rate

Responsibilities:

  • Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming.
  • Clean and sanitise restrooms, classrooms, offices, and common areas.
  • Empty trash bins and replace liners.
  • Maintain cleanliness of windows, doors, and other surfaces.
  • Follow established cleaning protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure a clean and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Requirements:

  • Previous cleaning experience preferred but not essential.
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy environment.

Compliance Process:

  1. Enhanced DBS Certificate (Disclosure and Barring Service): All candidates must either hold a valid Enhanced DBS Certificate or be willing to obtain one. The Enhanced DBS check assesses an individual's criminal record and any relevant information, ensuring that they are suitable to work with vulnerable groups such as children.

  2. Update Service: Candidates with an existing Enhanced DBS Certificate should ensure it is listed on the Update Service. This service allows employers to check the status of a DBS certificate online, providing real-time updates and reducing administrative delays.

  3. Safeguarding Screening: Successful candidates will undergo a safeguarding screening process. This includes verifying their identity, checking their professional references, and assessing their suitability to work in an educational environment.

  4. References: Candidates are required to provide references covering the last two years. These references should ideally come from previous employers or educational institutions and help verify the candidate's work history and character.
