Are you a dedicated and experienced professional in children's residential care looking to step into a leadership role? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as Deputy Manager of a 4-bedded children's home situated in Berkshire.

We are partnering with a reputable Children’s Home provider committed to delivering exceptional care to vulnerable children and young people. With an established Ofsted-rated Good home supporting both males and females experiencing emotional and behavioural difficulties in Langley, Slough, Berkshire, this role offers a chance to contribute significantly to the well-being of children in need.

As Deputy Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Registered Manager in ensuring the delivery of high-quality care, maintaining regulatory compliance, and fostering a nurturing environment for our residents.

Key Responsibilities for the Deputy Manager:
  • Support the Registered Manager in overseeing all aspects of the children's home, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and company policies.
  • Assist in recruiting, training, and managing a dedicated staff team, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and professional development.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individual care plans in collaboration with relevant stakeholders to meet the unique needs of each child.
  • Help create a supportive and stable environment, promoting positive relationships and trust among the children and young people.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and professionals to provide comprehensive support and achieve positive outcomes for the residents.
  • Assist in monitoring and evaluating care delivery effectiveness, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
  • Contribute to budget management, resource allocation, and administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications and Requirements for the Deputy Manager:
  • Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a children's residential care setting is essential.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices in children's residential care.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, facilitating effective engagement with staff, children, families, and external stakeholders.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Relevant professional qualifications (such as NVQ Level 4 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
  • Possession of a full driving license and willingness to travel as required.
