Avencia are partnered with a global carrier who are looking for a Delegated Authority Manager to join their team in London.

The opportunity:

The role of the Delegated Authority Manager is vital to support the effectiveness of due diligence process and you will be a key member of the Governance & Delegated department's management team.

You will have day to day oversight of the end to end due diligence process and will lead and manage an experienced and effective due diligence team to ensure that various underwriting platforms meet all the required internal and external regulatory and operational standards.

What you'll be doing:

  • Oversight and day to day responsibility for ensuring that due diligence reviews of Coverholders and Delegated Claims Administrators are undertaken whilst complying with all internal policies/standards, procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Line management responsibility for the delegated underwriting and claims due diligence process and controls.
  • Ensuring the quarterly Delegated Authority business monitoring tracker (incorporating both Underwriting and Delegated Claims Administrators) is kept up to date and completed effectively by the team.
  • Ownership of the post-bind activity process by ensuring that these are undertaken efficiently, effectively and timely by the team.
  • 1st line due diligence management and oversight of the Service Company Arrangements globally in line with the agreed procedures and standards.
  • Provide insight and support to the cover holder audit team to ensure full cycle reviews of delegated authority (both underwriting and claims) business is effective.
  • Foster close relationships with the Wholesale Governance/OCUO/claims and underwriting teams to ensure that all regulatory requirements for Delegated business are adhered to and evidenced.
  • Ensure the team works closely with the Delegated Operations team (for cover holder borderaux) and Claims team (for Delegated claims bordereaux) to ensure that it is of good quality, meets standards and is received regularly.
  • Ensure the team provides information for the Delegated groups/committees or other groups as needed.
  • Oversee the Delegated Claims Performance calls and associated Enhanced MI process to ensure our Delegated Claims Administrators meet both internal and external standards.
  • Actively participate in the Delegated Oversight Group(s) in area of responsibility in International (covering both Delegated Underwriting and Claims) and attend the Delegated Oversight Committee when required by the Head of department.
  • Oversight of line slip, consortium and master policy arrangement process if requested by Head of department or Senior Management.
  • Work across all International divisions to ensure that a unified approach to due diligence is taken for Coverholders.

What we are looking for:

  • Previous experience of working in Delegated Authority Management is essential.
  • Experience of both International and UK consumer delegated authority business is required, with particular focus on UK binding authorities given recent regulatory changes in the UK Consumer Duty space.
  • Previous management experience is required.
  • Robust understanding of Lloyd's and delegated authority requirements.
  • Good and effective communicator - open, honest, and respectful.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Willingness to take responsibility and accountability in a collaborative manner,
  • Ability to deliver work on time to a set deadlines
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office, Word and Excel
  • Effective stakeholder management skills
