Decontamination Engineer

Length:           6 months temporary, ongoing

Hours:             37.5 hours a week, Mon – Fri

Main responsibilities of the role:

  • Responsible for overseeing the engineering maintenance and breakdown support to the decontamination services
  • Provide competent technical, health, safety and environment support and assistance where required
  • Ensure that departmental working instructions and standard operating procedures are maintained, including challenging, correcting and escalating non-conformances as appropriate
  • Offer support and advice to Technicians carrying out repairs and maintenance as required
  • Ensure works are being carried out in adherence to statutory compliance regulations and industry standard
  • Management responsibilities for Engineers and Technicians carrying out repairs, maintenance and validation of a variety of decontamination equipment including but not limited to porous load sterilisers, washer disinfectors, automatic endoscope reprocessors and reverse osmosis plants
  • Responsible for organising work for daily production, re-prioritising work where appropriate, and re-organising technicians to meet necessary demand

Essential requirements:

  • You must have previously worked in a similar role with a background in Sterile Services
  • Previous experience within the NHS or a private hospital is essential for this role
