About the role

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Data Risk Senior Manager to join the Society’s Data Office. The person in post will take pivotal ownership of Data Risk Management.

The Data Risk Senior Manager will set the direction of the function, lead on developing our data risk and compliance framework and processes to automate and continuously monitor data policy, privacy controls and risks.

The role holder will be responsible for documenting, maintaining, and developing the key processes across the organisation in relation to Data being a principal risk category. They will make recommendations for improving process efficiency in a manner that drives the overall productivity of the Data risk function whilst ensuring that it effectively mitigates the Data risks across the organisation.

About you

You’ll have demonstrable Data governance, risk and compliance experience gained within a risk oversight role, ideally within financial services or a regulated industry.

Experienced in dealing with regulators such as PRA, FCA and ICO, you’ll also be able to demonstrate your understanding of governance and risk management frameworks. You’ll also have excellent working knowledge of Data management practices, strategies, approaches and developing technology trends.

You’ll be an influential leader with the ability to challenge senior stakeholders whilst maintaining relationships, informally and through papers and presentations. Whilst it is not essential, a relevant Data Management or Protection qualification would be beneficial.
