We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Crematorium Team Manager. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations where no two days will are the same. In this rewarding role you’ll manage, lead, and develop colleagues to provide excellent customer service and client satisfaction.

Your day-to-day tasks will include

  • Embrace and support the delivery of the End-of-Life Services vision. Manage and deliver business objectives to ensure all touch points are delivered in a professional, caring and empathetic manner.
  • Manage, coach and lead on all elements of team performance including regular reviews, recruitment, underperformance, sickness, and absence.
  • Through auditing ensure all administration, cremations and interments are completed with dignity, legally and professionally in line with our agreed clients (Funeral Director/Applicant) request, always providing quality and care of the deceased.
  • Proactively respond and manage client feedback to assist in any resolution and prevention requirements.
  • Actively promote our Bereavement Care Service
  • Maximise efficiencies and lead cost saving improvements with a commercial awareness
  • Proactive within the market to maintain a high level of understanding and awareness of competitor activity, price structures and service propositions to remain competitive within the market.
  • Alongside the Senior Crematorium Operative, ensure all crematoria equipment is maintained to the correct high standard and is always legally compliant, highlighting concerns to senior management.
  • Adhere and comply with all Policies, Procedures and ICCM & FBCA guidelines and business code of practice.
  • Ensure grounds are maintained in line with the land maintenance and sustainability programme.

Key skills required

  • Experienced in developing, coaching and managing a team through excellent people management and leadership skills.
  • An excellent communicator with the confidence to build strong relationships with multiple stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills ensuring attention to detail at all times and display the ability to be flexible and adaptable
  • Strong influencing, presentation, and communication skills
  • Demonstrates client focus and experience with a professional, empathetic approach
  • Previous experience in an operational/ fast paced environment, preferably customer service based
  • Qualified Crematorium Technician - desired but not essential as training will be provided
  • IT literate and a competent user of MS Office 
  • Ability to successfully network internally and externally and engage the team to embrace and build on new and existing links within the community
  • Holds a full UK driving licence
