Credit Controller

Your new companyOur client is one of the biggest independent, family-run livestock and agricultural manufacturers in the UK, based in Shepshed, Leicestershire.The company has a fantastic 'family feel' and is still run by the family of the original founders.
Your new roleYou will be tasked with providing a comprehensive credit control service in a fast-paced environment to support the business by ensuring that outstanding debts are collected in a timely and professional manner, working closely with the sales team to lead on the development and promotion of efficient cash collection and debt reduction.

Key duties and responsibilities

• Maintain contact with customers to chase outstanding debts.
• Resolution of ledger queries and related phone calls.
• Allocating customer payment from the bank statement on a daily basis.
• Allocation, posting and banking of daily cheques received.
• The weekly and monthly posting of collection journal, notifications and processing through the bank.
• Produce and check monthly statements.
• Identify and escalate referrals and prepare information and liaise with parties involved as and when required.
• Take customer bank card payments as and when required.
• Complete credit checks.
• Provide credit references to external parties as and when required.
• Cover for other credit control colleagues in their absence.

What you'll need to succeed

• Minimum of 1 year's experience (Credit Control)
• Experience/background within the Agricultural Industry is preferred, but not essential.
