Academics are working with a lovely, diverse and inclusive primary school in Basildon, Essex. There is an opening for a cover supervisor to join this school from June on a long-term to permanent contract.

As the school grows each year, they continue to build a team of committed, highly skilled staff professionals.

They are seeking an inspirational and motivated cover supervisor with the drive, commitment and creativity to support them in providing the best possible opportunities for their students.

As a cover supervisor, your priorities will be to ensure the highest quality learning experience for all learners.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual looking to enhance their experience, as you will play a major role under the overall direction of the inclusion leader.

You will be empowered to improve policy, process and practice in the delivery of pastoral care across the school.

The ideal candidate should:

  • Be comfortable in being at the front of the classroom, managing a classroom and ensuring learners stay on task
  • Able to create a positive learning environment and can demonstrate good and strong classroom management
  • Able to provide support to learners
  • Present work from a lesson plan to the students
  • Possess excellent communication skills with younger individuals
  • Be confident and enthusiastic with a passion for teaching
  • Adaptable, flexible, be able to work at short notice and get to schools promptly
  • Be able to manage large groups of students, some of whom may display challenging behaviour
  • Be able to work on your own initiative
