Opus People Solutions are working with Brentwood Borough Council to recruit for an interim Corporate Manager of Finance and Accounting to be responsible for financial management services and accounting, procurement, risk, insurance, systems and fraud services for both Brentwood Borough council and Rochford District Council.

The main purpose of this role is to manage the Accounts and Assurance Partnership Service which will support both Councils as part of the #OneTeam Transformation, ensuring the postholder has oversight of all matters handled within the teams via line management of the local teams based in each geography. Deputising for the S151 Officer when required.

The portfolio of services managed by the post holder includes:

• Direct management of Financial Services or Accounts and Assurance across both councils

• Delivering finance functions in respect of the Council’s Service Level Agreement with SAIL (Seven Arches Investment Limited)

• Contract management in place to support Accounts and Assurance services across both councils

The Councils deliver a number of fundamental statutory services to residents and businesses which must meet their needs and are delivered in the most cost-effective way. Services are delivered within a framework of robust governance and assurance, with activities underpinned by appropriate and proportionate controls.
