BMC Recruitment is delighted to working exclusively with Scotty’s Little Soldiers, the charity for bereaved British Forces children, to assist them in finding a Corporate Fundraising Executive to join the team on a permanent basis.

Background
Scotty’s Little Soldiers are a UK national Charity which provides support for bereaved military children and young people aged 0-25. They currently support over 600 children and young people and have a long-term goal of supporting over 1,000 by 2030. They deliver 4 family programmes; SMILES, SUPPORT, STRIDES and SPRINGBOARD, which provides a range of emotional and education support for bereaved military families.

The role will have been responsible for developing and stewarding the relationships with their corporate partners to drive income for Scotty’s. They will work closely with the Corporate Partnerships Lead to play a key role in helping grow Scotty’s income. You will be happy picking up the phone, attending events and getting out to meet the charity’s supporters.  

Duties & Responsibilities
You will be responsible for best determining how to achieve the below, but key responsibilities will include:
  • Research and identify potential Business Hero Club members and corporate fundraisers.
  • Effectively communicate the charity's mission, vision, programmes and impact to potential donors
  • Onboard new Business Heroes and other corporate partners.
  • Strategise and execute successful fundraising campaigns.
  • Help to organise corporate fundraising events.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with existing business partners.
Person specification
  • Experience in fundraising, business development, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills
  • Passion for the charity's mission and vision
  • Although not essential it would be nice if you were experienced in working within organisations supporting young people and had a connection to the military community. However, if you haven’t, please don’t let this put you off applying!
Working arrangements:
Scotty’s are a flexible working employer. Ideally you will be working the office 3 days a week however this role will require targeted travel across the country in order to meet supporters in person. The role will require a minimum of 6 days to be spent in East Anglia for team building days, strategy sessions etc.
