Contracts Engineer

Thank you for reading about this new opprtunity with Ductec.

  • Do you have project management experince in the dust and fume industry?
  • Are you craving a varied engineering / project-based role that will give you the opportunity to travel the country
  • Do you enjoy managing large scale installation projects and working hands on with a team?
  • Are you a passionate individual who strives to be proud of the work that you do?
  • Would you prefer to work closely with a team in a family business than be part of a large organisation where no-one really knows who you are?

If you’re answering yes to the above, then the new Contracts Engineer role with Ductec might be perfect for you!

Ductec are a family-run Yorkshire based business specialising in the design, supply, installation and service of dust and fume extraction systems for clients across the UK, Ireland, and Europe.

Extremely proud of its team and the reputation built on delivering a quality service, which has led to Ductec becoming a recognised service provider to clients across: woodwaste, metal cutting, food production, textiles, and more.

If you’ve previous experience as a projects/contract engineer and you’re looking to move into a role that encompasses more of a lead / management element, this could be the perfect next step for you!

No two days in this role would be the same - all of our systems are bespoke, and we do have a full Job Description, but for now this is what a typical week might look like:

1. A day at the Heckmondwike office project managing contracts from start to finish, liaising with customers, suppliers, and installation teams to achieve quality installations on time and to budget. At any one time, you’ll be managing from 6-8 ongoing projects. You may be designing on CAD, finalising the contract of a project, completing RAMS.

2. A few days travelling out to a site, liaising with the client to make sure installations run smoothly - this could be in a range of industries from woodwaste to laser cutting, welding to waste management, food processing to textiles.

3. A day liaising with the client and the install team prior to project start, completing the relevant project administration whether that be ordering materials and parts, finalising drawings as well as picking up other elements on your other projects.

Please apply if and If you’re used to being on site and you already have project management / coordination experience in the dust and fume extraction industry

You should note that candidates with previous AutoCAD and IT experience to produce installation drawings, RAMS and any other formal reports to ensure legal compliance for health and safety will be a close fit for what we’re looking for.

As an engineer, whether that be qualified through degree, or qualified through experience i.e. time served, one of the key attributes that we’re looking for is someone that can use their own experiences and knowledge to make jobs run smoothly, is not scared of thinking outside of the box and taking the lead.
